After a cold dreary winter, dreaming about a tropical paradise, I finally caved. Booking a flight to the Whitsunday’s for a holiday teeming with turquoise waters, golden sands, and rainforest greenery.
I am an avid solo traveller, with an ongoing mantra stating that travelling without a tour lets you immerse into the community that much easier. But of course, even I am to crumble on occasion, with the Whitsundays requiring a lot of machinery such as cars and boats to reach the truly wondrous regions.Therefor I decided to do a tour during my adventures, booking Sightseeing Tours Australia’s Whitsunday Islands Tour with Whitehaven Beach.

Why I choose Sightseeing Tours Australia’s Whitsunday Tour

Choosing the right tour for you is always a tricky business. With tours completely perfect for some and dreadful for others. The outcome is all dependant on your interests and what you find worthwhile for the money. Those you would rather save their cash and do their own thing might prefer doing a cheaper tour which is essentially a shuttle to and from the destination. Giving you plenty of free time at the attraction before heading back once night falls. On the opposite end of the spectrum, those who love information and strive to discover the history of the region or the science behind the wildlife. Might prefer an all-inclusive tour, which includes a professional guide and numerous informational activities that help you discover the region further.
For me, I wanted a mix of both, with Sightseeing Tours Australia having the most inclusive tour at the cheapest price. Giving both informational activities as well as free time to discover attractions yourself.

What you get to see on the Tour

Whitehaven Beach

Many say that a trip to the Whitsundays is incomplete without a visit to Whitehaven Beach. I can now vouch for this, as the soft sands and sapphire waters were everything promised and more. The beach stretches out along the coast, listed as the largest beach in the entire 74 islands of the Whitsundays. The region can be described in one word; pristine! With pure white sand that require sunglasses to look directly at, to perfectly blue waters without any trace of dirty seaweed. Make sure to pack your bathers for this spot, as it is some of the best water I’ve ever swam in.

Hill Inlet

After sometime admist the soft sands of Whitehaven Beach, the tour headed to the North end, also known as Hill Inlet. This stunning inlet is where the tide shifts around in the sand, creating a epic pattern of blue to green shades. The tour spends some time here, before seting off again to the tropical greenery located nearby. Beginning a bushwalk through the thick foliage. Learning about the unique plants and animals as we travel through the fusion of colours.

Snorkel the Fringe Reefs

After trekking through the lush tropics, the tour finished at one of the many fringing reefs, offering flippers, goggles, and breathing tubes for everyone wanting a go at snorkelling. Snorkelling is one of my all-time favourite activities, and the Whitsundays did not disappoint. The warm, still waters were crystal clear, giving you a perfect view into the underwater world. The marine life is abundant within the area, and due to the reef’s tropical rainforest barrier, it was only us swimming around. Giving you a tranquil experience, you aren’t likely to forget anytime soon.

Glass Bottom Boat

Another available option at the reef was a glass-bottom boat tour. Although I chose the snorkelling activity, many who were uneasy swimmers leap at the chance. As you can properly guess from the name, the experience held on a boat where the entire floor section is clear glass. Giving a straight shot look into the reef without ever having to get wet!

My Verdict

I immensely enjoyed my day amidst the tropical paradise! As Sightseeing Tours Australia’s jam-packed day of beaches, rainforests, and reefs, made for an exceptional holiday! During the journey I learnt so much about one of Australia’s most beautiful natural spots, discovering things I never would of alone. If you are planning on travelling to the Whitsundays anytime soon, I strongly suggest doing a tour!
