Hunter Valley Gardens
There are several magnificent gardens located through out the Hunter Valley. The Rose Garden boasts over 35,000 beautiful rose bushes, and gorgeous structures and statues throughout. The Sunken Garden is the most unique of the lot, it has a stunning 10-metre-tall waterfall and garden beds full of vibrant shrubs and flowers. The Storybook Garden is the most popular, full of nursery rhyme characters like Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill and of course, Alice in Wonderland.
Aboriginal Rock Art
The Wonnaruah Indigenous People are the traditional landowners of the Hunter Valley region and lived there for tens of thousands of years before European settlement. Through out the area there are an abundance of significant Aboriginal cultural sites, including some unbelievable Rock Art. The Biaime Cave is the most famous of them all, the story behind it is that Biaime came from the sky and created all the mountains, rivers, and forests. He also created the traditional laws, culture, and way of life for the Wonnaruah people. There incredibly old rock art on the walls of the cave tell the story of Biaime and the significance he had on the people.
